What it costs, and the weight you are billed on

Three separate bills, one of which you can price before registering. Plus the rule that decides whether a light, bulky parcel is charged by size instead of mass.

The shape of the price

Three bills, not one

The goods. The domestic leg to the warehouse. The international leg out. They are billed at different times, and only the last one has a public calculator.

The split explains the most common surprise, which is that the number on the listing was never the number you pay. It also explains why consolidating helps: the international leg is priced per parcel, so fewer parcels is fewer first weights.

The first weight is the minimum chargeable weight. If the parcel weight is within the first weight range, the fee is calculated at the first weight price. The continued weight refers to the part exceeding the first weight.

The rule worth knowing

When size is charged instead of weight

A light, bulky parcel is billed on its volume. The official formula is published in the estimator's own FAQ.

Volume (Length(cm) x Width(cm) x Height(cm)) / 6000 = Volumetric Weight (kg). That is to say, 6000 cubic centimeters of goods is equivalent to 1 kg for freight calculation.

Dividing by 6000 means 6000 cubic centimetres counts as one kilogram, and a full cubic metre is billed as 167 kg. A duvet or a pair of boots in their box can cross over into this; a stack of t-shirts will not.

What a route will not take

Liquids, pastes, and the 100 ml line

Restricted by customs, tobacco, alcohol, medicine and prohibited items are not accepted. ... For example, a single bottle of cosmetics should not exceed 100ml, and a single package should not exceed 200ml.

Estimator FAQ, read 2026-10-09

Two numbers to carry with you: a single bottle of cosmetics should stay under 100 ml, and a whole parcel under 200 ml. Perfume is the category this bites most often, which is why that tile on the category wall carries the warning.

And on overweight: Each route has a weight limit. If the goods exceed the weight limit, it will prompt that the package cannot be submitted. You need to remove some goods and submit them in separate shipments.

The invisible line item

The exchange rate you actually pay

Goods on Chinese marketplaces are priced in CNY. You pay in your own currency. Somewhere between those two numbers sits a conversion, and that is the one charge that never appears as a line on an invoice.

Agents in this market typically apply their own rate rather than the interbank one, and the gap is the margin. It is not hidden exactly, but it is not itemised either, which is why a comparison based on headline service fees can point you at the more expensive option.

What EastMallBuy publishes: the site has a currency switcher in the header, set to USD by default alongside the English setting. What it does not publish on any page reachable without an account is the rate it applies or any markup over the mid-market rate. We are not going to guess a percentage.

How to measure it yourself, in about two minutes: take one item, note the CNY price on the marketplace listing, note the converted figure the agent shows you, and compare that against the mid-market rate on the same day. The difference is your real cost on that step, and it applies to every order you place.

Paying

Two different answers about payment methods

The footer says one thing in words and another in a picture, on the same page.

  • Footer text: PayPal | VISA | ALIPAY | Union Pay (four, includes Union Pay)
  • Footer image payment.png: PayPal, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay, JCB (eight, no Union Pay)

We are not going to guess which is current. Before relying on a particular card or wallet, check it at the payment step rather than from either list.

The gap

What the public pages do not say

No service-fee percentage. No storage-day count. Those are the two numbers people most want, and on the pages reachable without an account they are not there.

So this page does not carry them. A figure invented here would look exactly as confident as a real one, and would stay wrong for as long as nobody checked.

If you need both before committing, ask support at [email protected] and get the answer in writing.

Tracking the shipment and checking the delivery

Before the second payment, review the packing choice, dimensions, chargeable weight and route restrictions. Save the final quote, parcel ID and any selected cover. A pre-packing estimate may change when the warehouse confirms the parcel.

Once dispatched, use both the agent status and the carrier tracking number. A label-created event can precede collection. If progress stops, send support the parcel ID, the last tracking event and the date, and ask which party is handling the next step.

Check the package at delivery. Photograph visible damage, the label and any missing or damaged item; retain packaging and follow the route’s reporting deadline. Keep an unboxing record if the claim terms require one.
